travellers in northern california. interstate 80 is back open today. but it had to be shut down yesterday because of dangerous near whiteout conditions. weather and heavy holiday traffic caused many programs on the roads so many drivers spun off the road and tow truck drivers couldn't keep up. cars were detoured off the highway and through residential areas, creating a crowded mess and frustrating travellers. >> we had a pretty good cell come in and stay right here. probably put about 24 inches of snow in a very quick amount of time. >> we pulled over. we saw the sign saying the road was closed. we thought they were kidding but they weren't. >> snow will continue to fall this weekend and heavy rain and gusty winds are forecasted for the sacramento valley. >>> police involved shooting in west baltimore has left one man dead. it happened early this morning at a shell gas station on north bend road. the man approached the officer. the officers asked hip several times to drop the knife. when he refused the officer shot him. he was take ton the hospital where he was pronounced dead.
